HOURS OF WORK: Up to 24 Hours / Week
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, the Graphic Artist responsibilities include: ·marketing and promotion of the Recreation & Culture programs which include the preparation of point/press ready in-house promotional media, including flyers, posters and pamphlets as well as other mediums in accordance within brand guidelines ·Assisting with the creation of electronic audio visual presentation and Power Point presents to be used to market and promote programs and services ·Assisting with the establishment and ongoing maintenance of an up-to-date archive collection of relevant photographs to be used in Recreation and Culture marketing and promotion ·Create and prepare internal and external promotional and advertising materials as required including proper set-up of margins, bleed allowances, colour separations, pagination and registration ·Create PDF’s and maintain electronic databases of marketing and other documents and files for the Community Services Department ·Perform as a contributing member to the Community Services group.
The successful candidate will possess a Diploma in Graphic Design, Marketing or related discipline combined with one (1) to two (2) years' experience working in graphic design with a relevant portfolio. Certification in relevant software applications would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be thoroughly experienced in using computer applications including file management, database management, desktop publishing and computer graphic software. Applications include, but are not limited to current versions of the Adobe Creative Suite, Quark Express, Video and photo editing software, Crystal Reports and Microsoft Office Suite. The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as work well in a team environment, sharing ideas and concepts. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to prioritize and track daily workflow to meet deadlines as well as the ability to multi-task and take projects from concept to final production. You possess a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license and upon employment must provide a satisfactory current Ontario drivers abstract from the MTO.
