    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Manager, Facility Maintenance and Repair, you will provide strong leadership and expert guidance to staff by following the Town's core values of Care, Collaboration, Courage, and Service. Under management direction, you will provide supervision, and co-ordinate daily department activities including responding to demand work orders in all Town facilities, and addressing minor capital projects. You will also be responsible for overseeing the after-hours emergency on-call coverage of all Town facilities. Duties and responsibilities will also include:

    • Assess and evaluate work order requests, and dispatch staff to the site to evaluate work required to correct the problem, or contact a contractor to complete work as needed
    • Supervise repairs, confirm that work has been completed and communicate information to all stakeholders
    • Process invoices and record events in the work order system
    • Ensure ongoing health and safety procedures and standards are observed within the workplace
    • Document additional preventative maintenance or repairs discovered while performing a work order, and create additional work orders
    • Ensure any maintenance completed is documented on the maintenance schedule for preventative maintenance
    • Perform site inspections, assessments and define the scope of work for minor capital projects, as assigned by the manager
    • Obtain cost quotes for necessary work
    • Schedule, supervise and verify the completion of work
    • Ensure all practices and procedures remain current and compliant with provincial regulations and codes

    Qualifications

    Your 3-year College diploma in Engineering or Architectural Technology is complemented by a minimum of three years of related facility operations experience in a supervisory capacity. A Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation, trade license in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical, Certified Property Manager (CPM) or Building Environmental Systems (BES) Operator would be considered an asset. In addition, your qualifications include:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)
    • Proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Software (i.e. Maximo) and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • Proficient with engineering-related software (i.e. AutoCAD)
    • Familiarity with relevant Ontario codes, regulations and standards
    • Familiarity with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
    • Experience supervising in a unionized environment
    • Experience supervising outside contractors
    • You must possess a valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and the successful candidate will be required to provide a current clear Driver's abstract from the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, as well as proof of vehicle insurance
