    Training Wage is $14.00 / hour

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Summer Camp Director will assist the Program Coordinator - School Holiday, Summer Camp & Inclusion coordination and implementation of the Town Wide Summer Day Camps and Before & After Camp Programs.  Provide orientation, training, supervision and evaluations of Camp Supervisors, Counsellors, and Volunteers. Ensure there is the appropriate number of staff working in each camp program to meet the camper to staff ratios.  Prepare payroll, ordering of supplies and equipment, book out-trips, special guests, record and track camp budgets, and complete administrative duties as required.  Follow policies and procedures, while delivering camp services.  Ensure campers safety and security throughout the day.  Work effectively with Coordinator, Directors, Supervisors, peers, participants and the public. 

    Qualifications

    Your Secondary School diploma and/or Recreation Leadership is complemented by at least two years of related camp experience.  Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.  You are a team player with superior organizational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a multi-task environment.  Well-developed written and verbal communication skills are essential to facilitate effective customer service delivery.  Excellent keyboarding skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs are required. Working knowledge of the ActiveNet program would be a definite asset.  You demonstrate Richmond Hill's corporate values of care, collaboration, courage and service.  Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision are key to your success in this role.  You must possess High Five Certification, a current Standard First Aid & CPR C certification, and a valid Ontario Class "G2" Driver's License, and have access to a vehicle for use on corporate business (mileage compensated). You will be required to provide proof of vehicle insurance upon hire. The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Security Screening.
