Length of Employment: July 2 – August 30, 2019

Training Rate: $14.00 / hour
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, responsibilities will include the inclusion of all children with disabilities into the camp setting by providing one on one support where required; preparing support strategies with an emphasis on age appropriateness and respect for individuality; acting as a liaison between the parents, participants and staff in the form of pre-entrance meetings, updates and problem solving and ensuring that all participants with disabilities are fully included in the summer camp programs.
Candidates must be 15 years of age or older. Previous experience working with children with a disability in a camp or recreational environment is definitely an asset. This position requires a team player with the ability to function in a multi-task environment. Demonstrate the Town’s corporate values of service, collaboration, care, and courage. You will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Other necessary skills include self-motivation and the ability to work with minimum supervision. You must possess a High Five Certification, current Standard First Aid & CPR C certification and a Leader in Training Certificate. Food Handler Certification is considered an asset. The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Security Screening.
